DUCK READERS – NAME BEER / WIN BEER!!!!!
Stoke-on-Trent film-makers Inspired Film and Video are in the early stages of creating a documentary that celebrates a fantastic time to be a Potter and one that will bring a smile to any Stokies’ face. And there’s beer involved……
The film provisionally titled Macari’s Red and White Army, is not simply a review of that amazing season 92/93 when we were crowned Division Two Champions but a homage to pre-Premier League football, a social commentary on early 90’s Stoke-on-Trent and an opportunity to wallow in the nostalgia of the magic of Mark Stein, that back four, beating the Vale (remember them!) and what it felt like to be part of that famous Boothen End roar.
This film is going to celebrate the team, the fans, the city of Stoke-on-Trent, and pre-Premier League football!
In order to fund the film, which will take a number of months to produce and include a large archive budget for the goals, the team at Inspired have come up with an innovative way of getting some publicity and finances towards the production.
Working with Lymestone Brewery in Stone, who are also owned by Stoke fans, Ian and Viv, Inspired are producing a limited edition Pale Ale that will be sold online and in pubs and bottle shops across Staffordshire. Profits will go directly into the budget for making the film.
NOW THE BEER NEEDS A NAME – AND THAT’S WHERE YOU COME INTO IT!
